Countdown ...

... to Andalucia has started; sort of.

With only a few more rides to get in before departed in a couple of weeks i was hoping to get a bit of race pace in. And Id say i got what Id hoped for, plus more.
Started the weekend with a solo less eventful Glenmore loop. Saturday we rode north and got a few hard efforts here and there. A good road rash at the furthest away point that luckily both involed rode away from; me more lucky then Jay. A few minutes to get shoulder in place and then he pinned it back to town either on adrenaline or a stash of hidden away pace. Craig and I took what we hoped would be some fun single track back to town but ended up being more of a who can master the walk/ride without a wipeout ... We survived.

Tired legs started Sunday. We met downtown and headed south. Again, i got plenty of what id asked for. It was a hard day on the bike, but so good for me. Besides body shattered, we almost had a problem free ride but it got dented by a valve issue on Craig's bike just before home. It was fixed by riding with the tube of the pump left on.... Always a fix...

Race entries are posted for Spain and with a current (and previous) rainbow jersey holder in our group it should be time to suffer even more....

So thanks boys for making me work hard and suffer and for not leaving me with no money and phone...

Happy Riding...

A late...

...but worthy a mention...

Just missing the golden tooth...

A few good rides last weekend and the folks in Priddis probably thought aliens or at least one, had landed.

Cold Saturday ...

... with plenty of new snow made for a city ride plan and later start. Thanks to all walkers of Calgary; even with the dump we had the trails are possible to ride. Yes, tricky, but possible.
Great new coffee adventure with the best ever banana French toast!....and topped off with equally good Mocha.

Happy Riding!

Last weekend...

...was not much of a weekend.

Still able to get out on a couple of rides but definitly not my rides of the year. Did one in and out on backroads with Craig. It was awesome scenic with the sun setting. And pretty fun heading back down Tuscany ravines in the dark with lights on. If only the body was up for it. My theory of sweating it Out did not really work as well as id hoped. The next morning was probably better spent at home, but when the sun is shining in Calgary it is too hard to turn down a group ride. Made it to Cochrane and threw in the towel.
Ended the weekend with a nice little hike with the fairly new adition to Bowness and their brand new family member Finn. A nice treat for Toby. And missed the windy south ride.

The week up north haven't totally kicked whatever is in the body but hopefully good enough to get in some Exersice of sort. Only a month to departure Spain :)

Happy riding!

First and last...

...days.
Last day of 2012 did not include bike; only tired bike legs :).
A short hike and some evening skating was all they could handle. Made it through the ball falling to our own midnight, not bad; but not as good as my neighbors ....

The first day of 2013 did include both a ride and tired bike legs. Craig and I met Cindy and Erik. Good on them from only some hours earlier boarded a flight in Italy with their bikes now full of snow from the ride to meet us. Cindy did her best but some flying bug got the best of her and she made the call to turn back. Now three of ventured out to Cochrane the traditional way. Little bit of tummy flue like feeling but such an amazing day out and soon back to work. Survived to coffe stop but a little sad to see our regular stop closed. Though safeway Starbucks wasnt too bad. After stop onwards north though the amazing valley up to big hill spring..... From there not sure what roads but some nice gravel back roads and it was all about making it home. We did. Very dark, we had one red blinky, need to be better prepared. Nice to come home to a nice and warm house. Thanks my Nest! You know how i like it.

Welcome 2013; looks forward to many more great days!

Happy riding!
